Torque was established in 2007 by Jeremy Lee and Anthony Rossington. Having worked previously for Robey of Lincoln, Beel Industrial Boilers, Cochran Boilers and ME Engineering within the industry, we saw the opportunity and potential benefits of operating as an independent small business, reactive to the immediate requirements of the industrial boiler market.
Torque Engineering personnel have a combined experience of over 250 years of experience within the industrial boiler market.
Torque Engineering are a total of 12 personnel, with 3 coded welders, 1 further welder (non-coded), 3 engineering fitters, 1 electrical engineer and support staff.
The business started trading in July 2007 with nine regular or non-regular personnel, all of whom are still involved with the business today.
Meet some of the Team
Jeremy Lee – Commercial Manager
Jeremy started work with Beel Industrial Boilers in Summer 1990 whilst studying at Birmingham University. Having graduated from Birmingham in 1993 (Manufacturing Engineering & Economics) he started full time work with Beel Boilers and continued to do so initially as Health & Safety Manager and latterly as Service Manager before leaving the company (BIB Cochran) in 2004 to join the new ME Engineering UK boiler initiative, with the purpose of setting up the new Product Support Division.
Having established a working boiler product support business Jeremy left ME Engineering (Thermax Europe) in early 2007 and set up Torque Engineering later in the year.
Jeremy has a keen interest in motorsports and is a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan (we all have our problems!).
Please contact Jeremy for energy efficiency works, equipment supply, M&E, turnkey and other installation projects at email@example.com
Anthony Rossington – Manufacturing Services Manager
Tony started work at Robey of Lincoln aged 16 and later rose to became the companies youngest welding foreman aged 21. When the company closed in Lincoln, Tony was one of the key personnel and prime movers in the setting up of Beel Industrial Boilers in the town.
Tony became the Works Manager of Beel boilers and then became Works Director of firstly Beel Boilers and latterly BIB Cochran after the amalgamation of Beel and Cochran boilers.
Tony joined ME Engineering as Manufacturing Services Manager in 2003 and undertook 3 years of globetrotting, charged with the responsibility of preparing Thermax India for export of UK market boiler plant and general tightening of ME Engineering global manufacturing control.
Tony left ME Engineering in 2006 and joined Jeremy the following year in setting up the new Torque Engineering business.
Tony is a keen restorer of vintage British motorcycles and has his own unofficial motorcycle museum dotted around Lincoln! Tony has the ambition to retire and go to live by the seaside in Devon, but we’ll believe it when we see it!
Mark Thompson – Service Manager
Unlike many of us, Mark has actually worked in the outside world! Mark started work in the financial sector, before later spending time in the electronics industry with Richardsons in Lincoln.
Mark joined BIB Cochran (Beel Industrial Boilers), in November 2000 and worked for nearly 4 years in the Product Support Division, prior to leaving in mid-2004 in order to join the newly set up ME Engineering Product Support Division.
After assisting with the closure of ME Product Support Division, Mark joined Jeremy and Tony in the setting up of Torque Engineering in mid-2007.
Mark is married with two young children and is keen on DIY and renovation projects, having restored a 1973 VW Camper van. He is an avid Manchester United fan but as I said, we all have our problems!
Mark controls the workshop fabrication element of the business, including co-ordination and control of third party certification of equipment. Mark also controls boiler service works, including boilerhouse service contracts, burner service contracts, 5 yearly NDT, refractory and repair works
For boiler service or repair works, please contact Mark at firstname.lastname@example.org
Having taken a degree in Mineral Engineering at Leeds University, Robyn joined the ME Engineering financial department in 1999 and gained ACCA accreditation. When ME Engineering closed, Robyn joined her husband in running Banner Services and her father in running Chesapeake Accountancy firm.
Robyn assisted with the setting up of Torque Engineering in 2007 and has worked with us on a part time basis ever since.
Robyn is a keen netball player and plays and umpires for local Grantham clubs and other Lincolnshire League teams. She has an over excitable Rottweiler called Rosie, who she keeps threatening to bring into the office in order to restore order!
Janet Hurley – Office Manager
Janet is the latest addition to our team, having joined us in March 2014, in the newly created role of Office Manager.
Janet has a wide variety of experience in office administration, having worked for a diverse set of companies including PepsiCo; WH Smith Travel; Columbia Pictures Corporation (Sony Pictures)Ltd and The Walt Disney Co.
Janet moved from London with her husband in 2004 and is passionate about her two nutty English Springer Spaniels, Dibs and Noodle.
For general enquiries, please contact Janet at email@example.com
Robert Harrison (coded welder)
Rob has a wide variety of experience at a number of companies within the industrial boiler market, having worked with Northern Arc, Studrock and BTH Boilers.
Rob joined the Torque Engineering personnel whilst at ME Engineering and has worked with us for ten years.
Rob is a coded welder and whilst carrying a wide skill set, specialises in the installation of our economiser plant.
Rob has a keen interest in motorsports and lives in Leicester.
David Chambers (fitter)
Dave started his working life as an apprentice at Robey of Lincoln. On closure of Robeys, Dave was an early employee of Beel Industrial Boilers. When Beel’s closed he started working as a site Engineer for BIB Cochran.
Dave joined ourselves whilst at ME Engineering and as with Rob transferred to Torque Engineering on start up and has worked for us ever since.
Dave lives in Lincoln (and seems to know everyone in the City!).
David Haldane (fitter)
Dave came into the industry later, having had a wide experience of working in other industries, including a spell working for the British Shoe Company.
Dave joined Studrock Industrial Boilers in the late 1990’s and started industrial boiler site working at that time.
Dave left Studrock in 2005. When we found out ME Engineering looked to employee Dave, but unfortunately we could not find him! Luckily, Dave contacted us and he has been working for us ever since, joining Torque full time in 2009.
Dave lives in Leicester.
Kevin Gray (coded welder)
Kev worked for ourselves on a self employed basis for a number of months, prior to becoming a fully fledged Torque Engineering employee in July 2013.
Rather than supporting a dodgy football club, Kev has actually played for plenty of them, having been a professional footballer in an earlier life, playing for many sides such as Mansfield Town, Huddersfield Town and culminating his career as club captain for Carlisle United.
Kev lives in Scarborough, albeit lives in Lincoln during the week, whilst not site working.
Matthew Byers (fitter)
Matty is another of our newer employees, having spent a number of years in the building industry, his previous employment involved working on maintenance projects at Lincoln County Hospital.
Matty lives in Lincoln and joined us in July 2013 along with Kev and although he carries out general boiler maintenance, he specialises in boiler refractory and brick works.
